Configuring Profile and Settings

Learn how to set up your profile, adjust preferences and configure nietifications for an optimal Tesoro experience.

Your profile and settings determine how Tesoro works for you. By setting these up properly from the start, you make the system personal and efficient for your workflow.

Setting Up Your Profile

Step 1: Open User Settings

Click your profile photo in the top right and select Settings. This opens your personal settings page.

Step 2: Personal Information

In the Personal Info tab you fill in:

  • Profile Photo - Upload a professional photo (used in emails and portal)
  • Display Name - How your name appears in the system
  • Job Title - Your function (appears in email signature)
  • Phone Number - For client contact (optional)
  • Mobile - For SMS nietifications (optional)
  • Email Signature - Automatically added to outgoing emails

Tip: A good profile photo and professional signature make your communication more credible.

Step 3: nietification Preferences

Go to the nietifications tab and choose what you want to receive:

Email nietifications

  • New leads assigned to you
  • Deals changing stages
  • Tasks expiring soon
  • New messages from clients
  • Weekly performance summary

In-App nietifications

  • Real-time updates (bell icon)
  • Desktop nietifications (browser permission needed)
  • Sound alerts for important events

SMS nietifications (optional)

  • Urgent client requests
  • Meetings within 30 minutes
  • Hot leads needing action

Tip: Start conservatively with nietifications. You can always turn on more if you know what you're missing.

Step 4: Language and Region Settings

In the Preferences tab:

  • Language - Choose between Nederlands, English, Español
  • Timezone - Important for scheduling (auto-detect usually works)
  • Date Format - DD/MM/YYYY (EU) or MM/DD/YYYY (US)
  • Currency - EUR, USD, GBP, etc.
  • Number Format - 1.000,00 (EU) or 1,000.00 (US/UK)

Important niete: These settings only affect how YOU see data. Clients see content in their own language via the portal.

Step 5: Privacy and Security

In the Security tab:

  • Change Password - Change your password (do this regularly)
  • Two-Factor Authentication - Extra security via SMS or authenticator app (recommended!)
  • Active Sessions - See where you're logged in, log out on old devices
  • API Keys - For integrations (only if you need this)
  • Data Export - Download your personal data (GDPR)

Security tip: Enable 2FA for extra protection, especially if you work with sensitive client data.

Company Settings (for Admins)

Best Practices for Settings

Profile Photo

Use a professional headshot with neutral background. This is what clients see in emails and the portal - it forms your first impression.

Email Signature

Always include:

  • Your name and function
  • Phone number (direct or mobile)
  • Email address
  • Company name and website
  • Optional: LinkedIn profile, license numbers

nietifications

Recommended setup for agents:

  • Email: Only daily summary (niet every update)
  • In-app: New leads, deal stage changes, client messages
  • SMS: Only urgent (hot leads, meetings < 1 hour)

Privacy

Regularly check your Active Sessions. Log out on devices you no longer use (old laptops, public computers).

Frequently Asked Questions

chevron_right Can I change my email address?
Yes, but this requires support help because your email is your login. Contact us via [email protected] with your old and new email. We verify both addresses before making the change.
chevron_right What happens to my data if I delete my account?
Your data is permanently deleted within 30 days. You can contact us within those 30 days to restore your account. After 30 days recovery is no longer possible. We advise making a data export before deleting your account.
chevron_right Do my teamlids also see my nietifications?
No, nietification settings are completely personal. What you receive doesn't affect what others receive. Each teamlid configures their own preferences.
