Step 1: Adding your first contact

Open the Contact Menu

1. Go to the main menu on the left side of your screen

2. Click on "Contacts" (the icon with two people)

3. You'll now see the contact overview with any existing contacts

Tip: You can also use the shortcut Ctrl + C (Windows) or Cmd + C (Mac) to go directly to contacts.

Click 'New Contact'

1. Look for the blue button "+ New Contact" in the top right of the screen

2. Click this button to open the contact form

3. The form opens in a popup window or new page

Fill in Basic Information

Required fields (marked with *):

  • First Name*: Your contact's first name
  • Last Name*: Your contact's last name
  • Email*: The primary email address

Optional but recommended fields:

  • Phone Number: Mobile or landline number
  • Contact Type: Choose from Buyer, Seller, or Partner
  • Company: If it's a business contact
  • Address: Full address for viewings

Tip: The more information you fill in, the better Tesoro can help you with automatic matching and suggestions.

Save the Contact

1. Check that all information is filled in correctly

2. Click the "Save" button at the bottom of the form

3. You'll see a confirmation message: "Contact successfully added"

4. The new contact now appears in your contact list

Verification: Search for your new contact in the list to check that everything is saved correctly.

Step 2: Editing Contact Information

Open Contact for Editing

Method 1: Via Contact Detail Page

  1. Click on a contact in the list
  2. Contact details open in new page
  3. Click "Edit" in the top right

Method 2: Direct Edit (Quick Edit)

  1. Hover over a contact in the list
  2. Click on the pencil icon that appears
  3. Form opens directly for editing

Tip: Quick Edit is faster for small changes, Detail Page is better for extensive modifications.

Common changes:

  • Update contact info: New phone, email, address
  • Adjust contact type: From prospect to client
  • Add notes: Important information about preferences
  • Modify tags: For better organization

Be careful when changing:

  • Email changes may affect automatic linkages
  • Address changes also update location-based matches
  • Status changes may trigger workflow automations

Adding Tags to Contacts

What are tags? Labels you can assign to contacts for organization and filtering

How to add tags:

  1. Open a contact for editing
  2. Find the "Tags" field (usually at the bottom of the form)
  3. Type a new tag or choose from existing tags
  4. Press Enter to add the tag
  5. Add multiple tags by repeating the process

Recommended tag categories:

  • Status: hot-lead, cold-lead, client, former-client
  • Interest: buyer, seller, tenant, landlord
  • Location: amsterdam, utrecht, the-hague
  • Budget: 0-200k, 200-400k, 400k+

Filtering Contacts by Tags

Using tags for filtering:

  1. Go to your contacts overview
  2. Look for the "Filter" option at the top of the list
  3. Click on "Filter by Tags"
  4. Select one or more tags to filter by
  5. The list now shows only contacts with those tags

Advanced filter options:

  • AND filtering: Contacts that have ALL selected tags
  • OR filtering: Contacts that have AT LEAST one of the tags
  • niet filtering: Contacts that do niet have certain tags

Tip: Combine tag filtering with other filters (location, date, type) for very specific lists.
